League Winners O'Donnells

O’Donnell’s are 2014/15 League Champions

In a dramatic ending to the league season O’Donnell’s despite their first league defeat of the season in The Bridge Bar won the title on head to head against Kilcar House that result also secured Bridge Bars place in the shield semi-final, well done to the lads from Meenenary and commiserations to Kilcar House.

Needing a big win on Friday night Kilcar House got that against John Eoinins to leave them with a slim chance of league glory, 1-1 after the doubles James Byrne bt Kenneth Byrne in the two point match Kenneth Kennedy had a 180 and Raymond Hegarty had a 140 checkout as the home side won all six singles matches.

Bridge Bar 4 O’Donnell’s

Rory’s went into this tie on Monday 16th knowing just three points would give them a first league title 1-1 after the doubles Kieran Gallagher beat Andrew Gillespie 3-2 Kieran had a 116 checkout, John Gallagher bt Noel McNern 3-0 to put Rorys 2-1 up and Jamesie Boyle beat John McHugh 3-1 to get the three points needed for the title and in the final match which was the two pointer Paul McNern beat David Kennedy to secure The Bridge Bar a place in the shield semi-final.

Kilcar House meet O’Donnell’s in the 2015 Shield final following a 4-0 win over The Bridge Bar in O’Donnell’s, Raymond Hegarty and Adrian Byrne beat Paul and Noel McNern and Kenneth Kennedy and James Byrne bt Kieran Gallagher and John McHugh in the doubles. Adrian Byrne beat Paul McNern and Kenneth Kennedy beat Kieran Gallagher 3-1 to secure victory.

John Eoinins retain the B Cup

 B Cup Winners John Eoinins Mark Boyle, Jason Cunnea, James McGinley and Kenneth Byrne

In an all local final John Eoinins defeated John Eoinins B 4-2 in the 2015 B Cup final, 2-0 up after the doubles following 2-0 wins for Jason Cunnea and Martin Boyle against Colm McGlinchey and Jourdain Cunningham and James McGinley and Kenneth Byrne against Hugh Doherty and Jamie McNern. The B side then took the opening two singles with Hugh Doherty beating James McGinley 3-2 and Jamie McNern beating Martin Boyle 3-0, but the holders made no mistake by taking the next two matches 3-0 first Kenneth Byrne beat Colm McGlinchey and Jason Cunnea secured the cup with a win over Jourdain Cunningham well done to both sides for an entertaining final and for their participation in the league this season.

For the fourth time this season the top two in the league meet, O’Donnell’s won both league matches 4-3 while Kilcar House won the Knockout Cup final 3-1 in what promises to be a close affair it will be followed by the presentations of all the league prizes.
