Bridge Bar 5-2 Big Francies B

The Bridge Bar clinched the B cup for the third time in their fourth B final in a row but this time with a new look team than the side that won it two years ago with a 5-2 win over Big Francies B in O’Donnell’s. The Ardara side won the first doubles of the night with Patrick Maloney/Pauric Molloy beating Francis Curran/Garry Gillespie 2-0 Pauric finished tops and double 4 in this one. The Bridge Bar took the next two games 2-0 Paul Gillespie/Kieran Gallagher beat Stephen/Adrian Gallagher with both legs finished on double 1 by each player. Paul McNern/Jonny Byrne beat Darragh Heekin/Paul Gallagher double 10 in the first by Paul and double 1 in the second for Jonny were the finfishes in this one.

Patrick Maloney got Big Francies second and last score on the board with a 3-2 win over Kieran Gallagher, he won the first leg in 20 darts with double 16 checkout, Kieran went 2-1 up with tops and double 15 finishes before a tops finish on 21 darts won the game foe Patrick. Paul Gillespie beat Stephen Gallagher 3-0 with finishes of 25, and double 10 twice to make it 3-2 to the Carrick men. Francis Curran beat Kevin McCabe 3-1 he took out 59 in the first leg before Kevin squared things up with a double 10 finish, double 2 and double 12 finishes won the game for Francis. Johny Byrne beat Paul Gallagher 3-2 to secure the cup for Byrnes in a very tense match that kept the large crowd on the edge of their seats Johny won the first leg on tops, Paul took the next two legs with 56 and double 16 out shots before a first dart double 7 finish by Jonny took the match to a decider and after a few missed darts at doubles by both players it was Jonny who got double 2 for the win.

Well done to both sides for an entertaining game of darts most of these lads never played in a final before and for the bottom two sides to provide an exciting game like this it’s a credit to you both and hopefully both sides can take encouragement for next season with this experience, thanks to the checkers and markers and to O’Donnell’s for hosting the event.
