John McGinley is the 2011 Bridge Bar Cup Champion

John Con McGinley won the Bridge Bar cup for the second time following his 2007 win with a 6-3 win over Adrian Byrne in the Bridge Bar on Friday 16th September last, John went 4-0 up in the final with, double 20, 5, 5 and 10 finishes and also had a 180 in the second leg before Adrian took the next two legs with double 1 and 4 checkouts. The next two legs were shared to make it 5-3 before John took out double 5 to clinch the title. Defeated semi finalists were two times winner Mike Naulty who was beaten 5-3 by John and Rodney McBrearty (who put out holder James Byrne earlier in the evening) who lost 5-1 to Adrian, 18 players took part in the night in the sixth holding of this event thanks to all who supported. The youth cup was cancelled due to lack of interest.
